    Jin Shin Do

    Roughly translating to “the way of compassion,” jin shin do or jin shin jyutsu is an acupressure massage modality. It combines massage, eastern spiritual beliefs and mind-body techniques to help clients release physical and emotional tension. Sessions are performed while the client is clothed, and practitioners compress acupressure points while talking the client through breathing and focusing exercises. The main goal is to balance the client’s “qi” or life energy.

    Jin shin do is used predominantly for relaxation, but some continuing education courses discuss using the modality on injuries, to help heal body systems or as part of a cosmetic facial. You can expect to spend roughly 100 credit hours mastering the modality as a whole.
