About the Instructor

Leah “Ivy” Iverson, LMT is a seasoned body worker with more than 23 years of experience. Due to her own struggles with auto-immune conditions, Ivy has educated herself on proper diet to avoid inflammation & has lost a total of 142 lbs. In addition to using bodywork to help others recover and heal from injuries, Ivy has been Certified as a Health & Wellness Coach since 2017. Ivy grew up in a home where alternative health options were appreciated more than western medicine. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class and has been certified in Neuromuscular Therapy from Gwinnett College in Atlanta, GA since 1996. Educated and mentored by Nancy Toner-Weinberger for the past 2 years, she has prepared herself to become an NCBTMB Board Certified CE Provider and looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with LMT’s in the southeast and eventually on a national level. Ivy’s bodywork techniques are unique and integrative, blending many modalities into one cohesive approach for clients that will change the way you work.

Like acupuncture, acupressure is a traditional Chinese medicine technique based on the concept of applying pressure along energy meridians to free energy flow. Practitioners address health concerns, from headaches and muscle tension to organ dysfunction and other more serious concerns, by balancing the body’s essential life forces.

All acupressure continuing education is founded on extensive study of traditional Chinese medicine, but CEU providers may take a clinical focus, spiritual focus or combination of the two. Introductory courses often teach you about the five element system and the body’s meridians. Later courses or smaller seminars may delve into specific health concerns, using acupressure for emotional healing or self-healing techniques for massage therapists.
