Event Description
Integrated Restoration Technique is a comprehensive approach toward the treatment of soft tissue pain, dysfunction and sports performance utilizing the following: Structural assessment, Structural alignment, Myofascial Mobilization, Muscle Energy Technique, and Russian medical massage.
In this workshop, you will learn how to improve your client’s structure, balance and movement through the use of specific Muscle Energy, Joint Mobilization and Myofascial release techniques.
We will look at the hips [the ilium] as the beginning point in the process of structural balance. Over 30 muscles attach on and around the hip joint. Ida Rolf called the hip “the joint that determines symmetry”. Viewing the hips as the foundation for structural balance, we will access the functional and structural health of the hip joint in all clients, not just those in pain.
From this starting point, we will also assess and correct ILIAL mal-alignment, anterior/posterior rotations and in/out flares. LUMBAR and THORACIC side-bends, rotations and other dysfunctions. The outcome will help with postural distortions, muscular tonicity, low, mid and upper back pain. We will utilize a combination of soft tissue manual therapy techniques designed to not only be very effective, but also pain-free!
This is a hands-on class, please wear comfortable, loose clothing/shorts as we will be assessing and correcting both the hips and thoracic spine.
- Massage lubricant is not required

About the Instructor
Integrated Restoration Techniques {IRT} is the brainchild of Ira Wikel, LMT. A massage therapist since 1982, Ira had been looking for techniques that would produce excellent results without taxing his body. After several hundred hours of continuing education, he put together this “greatest hits” package based on the therapeutic options that work for him. He continues to use them in his practice today and looks forward to teaching more massage therapists these methods.
