Lomi Lomi Massage Basis I – 30 hrs CEU Course Description A 4 day immersive experience into Lomi Lomi Massage. This hands-on course is designed to introduce participants to the massage technique known as Temple Style Lomi Lomi. You will learn the Hawaiian Wisdom which is the foundation and lies at the heart of this traditional work. Working from the heart and channeling the wisdom of those who have done this work before us, to generate profound levels of healing and awakening of the body mind and spirit. In Temple Style Lomi Lomi your whole being is accepted and honored in its natural unity. By aligning with divine, unconditional love and acceptance (aloha) whose source is within, the Lomi Lomi practitioner creates a sacred space of nurturing love, peace, and safety in which the recipient is invited to completely trust, let go and receive, or become one with what is, in this moment (Ho‘oponopono – the practice of coming into alignment with truth). You will learn a way of thinking designed to gently shift your awareness and deepen your sensitivities. You will learn a grace and fluidity and how to bring the lightness of movement to your work and to the receiver on the table. Learning Objectives This course teaches everything you need to complete a full 90-minute Lomi massage. In addition you will also learn the history of Lomi massage, the basic principles of Hawaiian wisdom, and a practice known as “flying”, where you learn to move with fluidity and grace as an integrated part of the treatment. For the first 3 days, we start at 9:30 am and end at 6:00 pm, although there are times when it goes longer according to the needs of the class. Generally on Day 4, we end earlier, at approximately 5:00 pm. You are asked to arrive at 9:15 am so that we may all be ready. About the Instructor
Experienced, intuitive, therapist and NCBTMB instructor, focused on relaxation, stress reduction through traditional western as well as Hawaiian philosophies. Trained at the well respected Bancroft School of Massage (Worcester, MA) as well as the Gantke Schule (Germany) under Mr. Robert Gantke, one of the pre-eminent practitioners of Kahuna bodywork and Lomi Lomi in the world today. Robert learned from IIima Margareta Kappl, who learned it from Kahu Abraham Kawai'i. Thus is my Lomi lineage - as close to direct as is possible today, with the passing of Kahu Abraham (who along with Aunty Margaret Machado, first introduced Lomi to non Hawaiians)
