Native to India, Ayurveda, is an alternative medicine practice that uses herbal medicine, lifestyle changes and massage to find mind-body-spirit harmony. Massage therapists can embrace Ayurveda as a core tenant of their approach or adapt it into a unique service offered to clients. Ayurveda continuing education can be divided into ayurvedic massage courses and comprehensive, Ayurveda practitioner courses.

In ayurvedic massage CE courses, you will learn how to assess clients using ayurvedic beliefs, use oils, dry brushes and herbal preparations during sessions and address the body’s marma, or vital points, during massage. Some courses may be geared solely toward one technique, like dry brushing. Ayurveda practitioner courses will delve deeply into ayurvedic beliefs and discuss facets like dietary adjustments and herbal supplementation.
