Practitioners attempt to manipulate and cleanse this energy, commonly known by names like chi, prana and kundalini, to free their clients from negative emotions and revitalize their spirit.

    Basic continuing education courses will give you an introduction to energy awareness and energy systems like the chakras. Modalities like reiki and polarity therapy are the most common in the field, but specializing in them is not necessary to perform energy work. You can explore courses in sound, crystal, flower essence and vibration healing as well.
