Welcome to the Level One Reiki class!
It is an honor for me to welcome you to class and share the knowledge and experience that I have gained throughout my years of practicing reiki.
Our class will start at 2:00 pm. I kindly ask that you plan your time accordingly and arrive at least 10 minutes before the class is scheduled to start. If you are late, please join us quietly.
My style of teaching focuses on dual interaction with the students. I will do my best to make this class informative, productive, and beneficial for you.
I will provide a powerpoint presentation for this class. No special preparation needed prior to the class.
If you need a transcript for continuing education, please let me know ahead of time.
What to bring:
A positive attitude for learning.
A blanket, pillow, notebook for taking notes, pen.
Wear layers of loose and comfortable clothes. Bring a light meal. Water and tea will be provided.
How to prepare for the class:
Please avoid meat, alcohol, and late or heavy meals before the day of class.
This course will include a deep understanding of the healing modality of reiki, adhering to the following structure:
–History of Reiki: Why it is important to keep the original reiki form. Why it is important to learn reiki in life classes and practice. A scientiﬁc explanation of reiki and chakras.
–Importance for a practitioner to explain to clients and colleagues how reiki can be beneficial. The body’s electromagnetic field. Physiological changes in the body during reiki.
–Activation of the parasympathetic nervous system and neuroendocrine hormones. Role of touch, the fascial involvement of energy-signals distribution in the body, and proprioception. Discussion of research articles on clinical trials of reiki published in respected medical journals. Integration of reiki into conventional medicine for emotional and physical pain. I will provide case presentations from my clinical experience with the benefits of reiki.
–Creating a safe space for yourself and for your clients. Bedside manners. Ethics and boundaries while performing reiki.
–Importance of proper documentation and recordkeeping, consent form, HIPAA, demographics, and taking notes during the session.
–Importance of respect for all religions, genders, ages, and cultures.
–Importance of self-care for the practitioner.
–Main principles of reiki (practical component).
–Reiki and acupuncture meridians and points.
–How to perform self-reiki and treat others (practical component). How to perform reiki on animals.
–Developing the ability to feel, scan, and see one’s own body.
–The technique of hand position, body posture, and grounding to perform Reiki.
–Creating a safe space for yourself and for your client.
–Importance of reiki circles and continued practicing.
–Discussion and exchanges of experience.
–Certificate of completion.
–Feedback for the class.
–explain and list physiological changes in the body when applying reiki;
–identify the main principles of the importance of boundaries and ethics;
–identify the importance of proper legal aspects of documentation and recordkeeping, consent forms, demographics, and notes taken during the session as well as recordkeeping policy;
–list the main principles of the importance of respect for all religions, genders, ages, and cultures;
–list the main principles of the importance of self-care for the practitioner;
–identify the color of chakras;
–identify the body’s characteristics, such as facial expressions and body posture; and
–identify the body’s muscle tone changes by applying reiki.
Students will demonstrate proficiency in self-reiki.
Students will demonstrate proficiency in performing reiki for clients.
Students will demonstrate proficiency in positioning their hands, maintaining appropriate body posture, and holding a safe space.
