The DeepFeet 3 curriculum utilizes a variety of barefoot techniques to improve the client’s postural alignment, the range of motion, muscle responsiveness and overall health and well-being. As a practice, it is comprised of a set of unique and proprietary foundational and structural techniques, utilizing what we call the “3 Connects”.
Together these techniques work in harmony to provide an effective muscle release technique that is beneficial for clients experiencing pain and limited range of motion from repetitive stress injuries, work out related soreness and past traumas or injuries resulting in scar tissue formation
I've been a licensed massage therapist since the year 2000. I received my first training in Ashiatsu five years into my practice and it changed by career from that moment on. I was working on large athletes at the time that wanted consistent deep pressure. I found myself fighting pain on a daily basis from the repetitive compression on my arm, hand and shoulder joints. I decided to see what Ashiatsu was all about out and fell in love with the massage style. Immediately I was able to free up back, neck and hip pain like never before. Not only did learning Ashiatsu extend my career it also increased revenues and attracted a whole new clientele. I'm very excited and honored to start teaching Ashiatsu in California. Our location in California is located at a very beautiful bed and breakfast in Livermore, oldest wine country, in California. We are excited to offer you an opportunity to learn in a calming serene environment. Few deep tissue techniques can work deeper than ashiatsu massage, a type of massage that uses the practitioner’s feet as well as hands, fingers and elbows to apply pressure. A typical ashiatsu setup includes both a massage table and ceiling-mounted bars that allow the practitioner to stay steady while standing on the table and applying targeted pressure with bare feet. It is an ideal way for massage therapists to reduce hand strain, and it can be performed with the client clothed.
Because ashiatsu is founded on traditional Chinese medicine, many ashiatsu massage trainings will cover energy meridians and mind-body balance, but not all courses take this approach. Some focus only on proper technique, safety and building your own strength and balance for better sessions.
