Event Description
This is our introductory course to Ashiatsu Barefoot Bar Therapy. Therapists will have lots of “feet on” time in this 3-day comprehensive class. Barefoot Curriculum includes prone and supine, seated and standing Ashiatsu Techniques. Our methodology is western focused and includes cross-fiber friction, effleurage, petrissage, compression as well as some trigger point and myofascial techniques.
The emphasis during this course will be on body mechanics, barefoot application, contraindications, certification, and bar construction. Therapists will gain enough knowledge and confidence to offer up to a 90-minute full body Ashiatsu treatment.
A non-refundable deposit of $325 is required to hold your spot. Once you complete the registration process a confirmation email will be sent to you. The remaining tuition balance will be due to your instructor two weeks prior to class.
Upon completion of this course, you will receive 25 CE hours. To become certified in Ashiastu DeepFeet Bar Therapy students are required to perform a practical on day three of class, complete an online quiz and submit 20 documented practice sessions.
Please review the following before registering:

The art of learning effleurage fluidly with the feet can be physically and mentally challenging. A successful learning environment depends on team participation.
If you have any physical ailment or debility that may interfere with you or your classmates’ learning process, please contact us in advance. Our #1 priority is safety for all students and guest clients participating in our workshops. A private one on one class may available if you require extra time or attention. Each student will give and receive two or more hours of Ashiatsu on the first two days of class. Although Ashiatsu is incredibly relaxing, it is also a deep compressive form of massage that is not appropriate for all conditions
We reserve the right to cancel class up to two weeks prior to the event if there are less than four students registered. This is highly unlikely to happen, in the event that it does we try and give students as much fair warning as possible. At such time, students can choose a 100% refund, or roll their deposit over to a future training with no penalties.
Your $325 deposit is non refundable should you cancel out of your selected workshop and the scheduled workshop takes place. A tuition roll over to a future workshop is allowed in the event of a healthcare emergency, pregnancy or injury. Two weeks notice is required and the fee to roll over the tuition is $75. When buying airfare, we suggest purchasing a ticket that is refundable should a schedule change occur.

About the Instructor
Becoming a Certified Ashiatsu Deepfeet Bar Therapist gave me more than a new start. Of the numerous possible career change options I’ve explored to let go of my social work job for over 15 years, my hunt led me to massage school in 2015. I was ecstatic to finally receive my license in 2016. I thought that was it, but after realizing what was trending in massage therapy market at the time — what do I want people to know that’s different about what I do? Determined to find my answer, I wasted no time and headed to Mudra Massage in Portland, Oregon for Ashiatsu - Deepfeet Bar Therapy Training. It turned out to be what I needed for my new start. Ashiatsu has provided me not only its uniqueness as to other modalities, but most importantly how much easier it is on my body. I am able to artfully interlace Ashiatsu with other modalities I was trained in, such as Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Tui Na, Guasha, Cupping, Sports Massage, Thai Massage, yoga stretches, and more. I now know that the “air of freedom” is loving what you do. When I’m on the massage table, it means I’m doing Ashiatsu. I am humbled to be the first to introduce Ashiatsu Deepfeet Bar Therapy in Madison. Today, my freelance Ashiatsu practice, which I named Barefoot Hands Bodywork, continues to gain positive response not only from my growing clientele but also inquiries from other therapists seeking to prolong their career. It is for these reasons that motivate me to continue to share my passion for Ashiatsu through education and training other therapists. My clients admire me for my caring, sense of humor, lightheartedness and ability to create an open-minded healing experience. I look forward to welcoming you with the same values and learning environment.
