Polarity therapy is a complementary medicine modality that combines energy-based bodywork, diet, exercise and mind-body techniques. The system is founded on the idea of three vital energy systems running through the body and the belief that blockages and imbalances in the energy flow will cause physical illness. While most continuing education courses on the subject focus on basic training, others explain how to work other modalities into polarity therapy.
Foundation courses teach the five-element system, vital energy manipulation and self-awareness methods. Existing practitioners can learn how to incorporate yoga, craniosacral therapy and reflexology into their polarity therapy sessions. Other courses focus on releasing certain areas of the body or alleviating specific symptoms of energy disruption.

City traffic is notorious, so plan on taking advantage of the fantastic public transit system. Just be prepared for plenty of snow if you come in the wintertime.
