Event Description

Ashi-Thai is an expression of traditional Thai stretches that have been modified utilizing the overhead bar system and therapists’
body so no heavy lifting or bending occurs at the waist. This flowing and rhythmic approach to Thai massage were developed for Ashiatsu
therapists seeking to expand their barefoot knowledge and add more strokes to their Ashi tool bag. Ashi-Thai techniques can easily be
incorporated into a regular Ashiatsu session or can also be considered as a stand-alone 2 hour Thai Massage Treatment.
The Ashi-Thai workshop has been divided into two different modules, the posterior module & the anterior module. The combination of
techniques has been arranged following traditional Thai energy lines and stretches for elongating and relieving tightness in commonly
used muscle groups.

Clients usually feel more range of motion, less tension, and an overall sense of balance and well-being. At the end of this course,
you will have a unique new skill set that your clients will be extremely impressed with. The emphasis during the 25-hour intensive
course will be on Ashi Thai methodology, body mechanics, barefoot application, contraindications, marketing, and certification.

Each week students will engage with one another for peer to peer feedback and also attend a 1- hour Zoom meeting with a Certified
DeepFeet Instructor. Students are required to set aside 8-10 hours of time per week to complete coursework and practice treatments.
The last week of the course will conclude with a 1-hour private practical examination done remotely with your instructor. Coursework
includes video instruction, digital lecture, online quizzes, digital evaluation forms, video reviews, community forum & weekly instructor
meetings.

Upon completion, the bodyworker will receive 25 CE credits and become a certified Ashi Thai Practioner. In addition, the therapist will
have enough barefoot skills and knowledge to deliver a 75-120 minute detailed Ashi Thai treatment.

Ashiatsu Bars are required to participate in this training. The bar installation manual is provided once your deposit and enrollment
have been accepted. If you need additional installation help we can schedule a video chat and provide consultation services for $50 per
hour. For safety purposes, we will require a video to be submitted of your equipment set up one week prior to the course start date.

About the Instructor

I've been a licensed massage therapist for over seventeen years. I received my first training in Ashiatsu five years into my practice and it changed by career from that moment on. I was working on large athletes at the time that wanted consistent deep pressure. I found myself fighting pain on a daily basis from the repetitive compression on my arm, hand and shoulder joints. I decided to see what Ashiatsu was all about out and fell in love with the massage style. Immediately I was able to free up back, neck and hip pain like never before. Not only did learning Ashiatsu extend my career it also increased revenues and attracted a whole new clientele.I'm very excited and honored to start teaching Ashiatsu in California. Our location in California is located at a very beautiful bed and breakfast in Livermore, oldest wine country, in California. We are excited to offer you an opportunity to learn in a calming serene environment. As your instructor, my goal is to make sure you excel at the basic massage techniques you can do with your feet, help you understand how to use your feet as a tool leaving you excited practice Ashiatsu and helping to recreate the best deep tissue Swedish massage.

Ashiatsu Massage

Few deep tissue techniques can work deeper than ashiatsu massage, a type of massage that uses the practitioner’s feet as well as hands, fingers and elbows to apply pressure. A typical ashiatsu setup includes both a massage table and ceiling-mounted bars that allow the practitioner to stay steady while standing on the table and applying targeted pressure with bare feet. It is an ideal way for massage therapists to reduce hand strain, and it can be performed with the client clothed.

Because ashiatsu is founded on traditional Chinese medicine, many ashiatsu massage trainings will cover energy meridians and mind-body balance, but not all courses take this approach. Some focus only on proper technique, safety and building your own strength and balance for better sessions.
