Event Description

Take your instruction to the next level with Undulation – a method of subtle functional movement for flexibility.
Learn Undulation to help your clients develop greater flexibility, adaptability, fluidity, body awareness, and the ability to heal after injuries.

Focus on how and what to teach to our most challenged clients based on the 6 fundamentals of fluid movement that will change stiff to fluid. Using Undulation, help clients become aware of their existing patterns which is the first step to help those with chronic pain. Also, many strategies for improving client interoception and movement potential will be taught.

Above all come ready to move! This is an interactive class; participants will experience and practice the exercises.

Undulation can be adapted to any movement or bodywork practice to enhance treatment. In addition, after completion of this course, you will have the tools (including sample class plans, handouts, and exercises) to teach Undulation workshops.

Movement & Exercise

Massage therapy training often focuses on plain anatomy, but studying the body in motion can have a drastic impact on your technique. Movement and exercise therapies are some of the best ways to improve your client’s flexibility, increase range of motion and re-train problematic muscle groups.

Somatics, or psychological perception of movement, and kinetic awareness, the physical perception of movement, form the foundation of many movement therapy continuing education courses. Techniques like Trager and Feldenkrais emphasize somatics while dynamic stretching and corrective exercises focus on kinetic awareness. You can also improve your own perception and core strength through self-care courses in tai chi, qigong and yoga.
