About the Instructor

Cindy Rodriguez has been practicing, improving, and perfecting her trade for over 15 years. She has traveled the world and learned techniques and skills and has brought them into her own therapy. She has studied in various places across Europe and has been able to incorporate the skills learned abroad into her everyday practice of bodywork. Cindy specializes in DeepFeet Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage. In 2014, she studied under Pilar Hook in St. Petersburg, FL, to become a certified DeepFeet Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage Therapist. Since then, she has been able to bring a much needed and desired service to the people of the Emerald Coast. Learning Barefoot Massage took her practice to another level. Cindy truly believes in her mission statement for Bodyworks of Perdido Key, “Our goal is to provide our community an oasis of wellness through our hands, feet, and nurturing hearts”. She believes that to be true for her clients and her future students. She pours her heart and soul into everything that she does. Ashiatsu Massage

Few deep tissue techniques can work deeper than ashiatsu massage, a type of massage that uses the practitioner’s feet as well as hands, fingers and elbows to apply pressure. A typical ashiatsu setup includes both a massage table and ceiling-mounted bars that allow the practitioner to stay steady while standing on the table and applying targeted pressure with bare feet. It is an ideal way for massage therapists to reduce hand strain, and it can be performed with the client clothed.

Because ashiatsu is founded on traditional Chinese medicine, many ashiatsu massage trainings will cover energy meridians and mind-body balance, but not all courses take this approach. Some focus only on proper technique, safety and building your own strength and balance for better sessions.
