About the Instructor

Denise Willinger is a Massage Therapist, Energy Healer and Quantum Touch Instructor. She has been a Spa Owner for 20 years. After being in the Spa industry for over 35 years, (and burning out a few times herself!), she understands what stress can do to your health and well-being. It can rob you of your joy, your time and your most precious resource-your life force energy!

When you spend 35 years working on bodies, you learn how amazing and resilient the human body is. By being in that close contact with someone, you also learn that their energies and yours are deeply connected. You learn that helping someone to heal an issue with their body involves much more than just relaxing the muscles, or getting them back in alignment.

Spirituality is an important facet of wellbeing, and for massage therapists, energy work can help you connect with and help to heal your client’s spiritual self. Energy work is based in a belief in vital energy. Practitioners attempt to manipulate and cleanse this energy, commonly known by names like chi, prana and kundalini, to free their clients from negative emotions and revitalize their spirit.

Basic continuing education courses will give you an introduction to energy awareness and energy systems like the chakras. Modalities like reiki and polarity therapy are the most common in the field, but specializing in them is not necessary to perform energy work. You can explore courses in sound, crystal, flower essence and vibration healing as well.
