Event Description

This class is based in Integrated Manual Therapy that is specific to the Dural Releases.

In this 3 day workshop we will be working with each of the Cranial bones to access the Dural, cortical region and subcortical regions of the brain.

We will access and work with this region in 3 different ways, via
Osseous releases- Working directly with each of the cranial bones
Sutural releases- Specifically working with the sutures that connect each of the cranial bones
Dural releases- Working with the Dura which is attached to the above mentioned and surround cortical and subcortical regions.

Prior to doing the Osseous, Sutural & Dural Releases students will work with the 4 diaphragms in the body– Pelvic, Respiratory, Thoracic, Hyoid, and 2 in the cranium considered to be the Vertical and Horizontal vault holds. Addressing these diaphragms enable the student to assist the body to balance and integrate the changes which occur in the body, from working with the different cranial holds.

About the Instructor

Nina has a passion for teaching and helping people feel better in their bodies.

In practice since 1989 as a LMT, she is now an Associate Instructor of Ortho-Bionomy and teaches Intro to CST and VM at The Sedona School of Massage. An Upledger  and Barral graduate, Nina brings her passion to the table and the classroom as well. She has spent the last 12 years working with an Advanced Osteopathic  Manual Therapist-Hands On Medical Intuit and has taken his material and what she has learned in her own training combining them all to present in laymans terms, cutting edge material. Students should walk away with hands on perceptions and skills that they can use right away in their already established practices and clinics.

Craniosacral Therapy

While there are many different approaches to the practice, all forms of Craniosacral Therapy (also called CST or cranialsacral therapy) are designed to promote a healthy central nervous system. The modality uses a light touch and can be performed while your client is fully clothed. Craniosacral therapy sessions are typically a stand-alone service.

The idea of manipulating cranial bones, spine, neck and sacrum or the flow of cerebrospinal fluid forms the foundation of most craniosacral therapy CE classes. However, some are based on the idea of essential energy pathways that run through the body. Courses in SomatoEmotional Release (SER), which uses the techniques of craniosacral therapy to help patients recover from negative emotions and trauma, are also available from some craniosacral therapy education providers.
